The M1 Air is silently encoding a video with ffmpeg compiled for x86_64 (under Rosetta) at 1.8x while the Intel Air is doing the same with a native binary at only ~1x (with its fan screaming)
I wonder how fast a natively compiled/optimized ffmpeg would run...
