i just recently discovered that it's possible to flash a normal bios to the cr-48 to allow it to run other operating systems.

i installed openbsd on the cr-48 that has been collecting dust in my closet and to my delight, it is very compatible. the built-in atheros wireless, suspend/resume, battery/ac status, intel video, webcam, and the sd card slot all work great under openbsd.

since the stock ssd is only 8gb for chrome os, i replaced it with an 80gb intel 310 ssd.
