mac mini connected to the receiver via a toslink-to-mini-stereo digital optical cable

now my lossless audio (usually flac converted to apple lossless for management in itunes and playability on my ipod) is sent to the receiver digitally, and then converted to analog through the receiver and played out the speakers or headphones. for video, the mac mini connects to the plasma tv via a dvi-to-hdmi cable.
