some openbsd- and not-so-openbsd-related things to do, in no particular order, so i don't forget:
- port netbsd's new bluetooth framework. i know i said it sucks but it's better than what we have and a lot of people could use it.
- port the kent-audio1 and kent-audio2 branches from netbsd's tree once the audio2 branch is done (audio1 was done early last year). these introduce in-kernel audio mixing to eliminate the need for esd and all of the other stupid hacks to allow multiple processes to open /dev/audio at the same time and play multiple audio streams.
- finally figure out what is salvageable from my tcpa/tpm patch (i'm pretty sure it doesn't apply to -current; i haven't used it in a long while) and if any of it is going to make it into the tree because alex holst keeps asking me. in 2004, deraadt@ said the tcpa hardware is too slow, but markus@ was using a version of the ported driver from dugsong@ and told me it would "probably be integrated into ichpcib(4)". after some prodding in 2005, deraadt@ said that "there is nothing cool you can do with it."
- look more into /dev/nvram being slow with acpi enabled. on my x40 it would take a second or three before tpb(1) would respond to any of the buttons being pushed while on a full acpi kernel.
- ponder the feasibility of that wacky idea i had of being able to reconnect a detached process to your terminal without screen(1) for those times when you accidentally drop your ssh connection with a process backgrounded or are running something that must stay running and you forgot to start it under screen (and so you would then ssh in on another terminal, start screen, and run whatever to "move" that process to your screen'd tty).
- make perl support in gaim work. i had it working before but now with gaim-2.0 it doesn't work. brad@ doesn't care about it so i guess i'm on my own.
- port quod libet. needs a port of mutagen (which i already have done) as well as gst-python (which needs at least a newer gstreamer than what we have).
- figure out why newer versions of pcsc-lite crash on openbsd. once that's fixed, the port can be updated and i can import my ccid port that makes my smartcard reader work with opensc. then once that's all working, figure out what can be done (if anything) to make the opensc support in openssh-portable work on the in-tree openssh. i don't really have a good reason to put my ssh key on a smartcard other than for the novelty of it, but whatever.
- finish up my hacks to aewm and fix the bugs my already-completed hacks introduced (alt+tab, titlebar text over minimize button, redraw focused on workspace change, colormap and start-up-minimized problem with dosbox/wolf3d).
- fix the stupid no-new-message thing in muttng's sidebar when other imap clients get to the mailbox first.
