and i'm back home. yay america.

sunday morning dave and i decided to skip the first opencon talk and go into venice to see stuff. we took the number 5 bus into town (without paying) and walked around. dave kept buying stuff and i took pictures of lots of neat graffiti.

we ended up seeing stuff for too long and didn't get back to the hotel until about 12:15, missing all three of the morning talks. we had lunch and then listened to theo's and gwk's talks, as well as a final one by someone else that i don't know about using spamd.

afterwards we sat around in the hotel room for the rest of the night and stayed up until about 3:00 throwing random shit at eachother and messing up the room in our sleep deprived states. then we woke up at 5:00, got ready, ate one last giant plate of scrambled eggs, checked out of the hotel, and headed to the airport. we flew back to milan and scampered to the gate for our chicago flight, which we eventually found out was delayed and moved to some other gate halfway across the airport. we eventually got on the plane and flew 10 hours back to chicago.

i have never been so happy to be using high-speed, low-latency internet access and eating crappy food from burger king.
