back from the cvo track day at gingerman with dave and adam. we drove up saturday night and stayed at a hotel and then were at the track all day sunday.

i didn't bring my ra1's because of the rubbing problem at road america, but ironically when i lowered the suspension back down to where it was before raising them there, i must have lowered it too much because the fender started cutting into the t1r's even with their lower profile sidewall. except this time it wasn't a groove but a deep gouge that repeated itself every 6 inches or so around the tire. i must have hit a bump while under heavy suspension compression, which jammed the tire into the fender, cut it, then bounced up and back down after the tire rotated and cut into it again, over and over again. after that session i rotated that front driver's side tire to the back and continued on.

other than that, the car felt ok the whole day and the tires had good traction in the cold weather. i was running 1:41-1:42's most of the day which is not very fast. i tried to use my gps timer which was able to record my speed and lots of other data but was not automatically ticking off laps when i'd come back around to its start point. i'm not sure why, and i e-mailed the program's author to find out why.

so now my plan for next season is to install the ground control camber plates i have sitting here and tilt the wheel in, roll the front fenders, raise the coilovers a bit, and call h&r about getting higher rated springs for the front. if that doesn't fix it, maybe i'll go down to a 225 width tire.
