i was laid off yesterday after 7 years at dls internet.
i had written a long, boring history of my time there but i couldn't commit it last night because of the extended power outage due to the storms. now that i read it, it's not very interesting, so i'll just say that i no longer work there.
so if you are looking to hire a full-time php / perl / ruby (on rails or off) / c / sql / html / css / javascript / unix (especially openbsd) / networking / security guy that doesn't do asp.net or java in the chicago area (or a telecommuting position), please contact me.

good luck, and I guess it's an opportunity to impress a new set of people with your highly honed skills instead of trying to move along in a shop you've been working at for the last 7 years...
Good luck in finding a new job, I know how you feel. I was laid off this week as well after 2 years. With all of your skills, I'm sure you will find something quickly.
I've always enjoyed your site and photos of your .:R, good luck moving on to bigger and better things!
good luck joshua!
man... based on the way they set you all up you should go kick them in the nuts. Or not, burning bridges is not a great thing I guess. I'll keep my eyes peeled. Here is your push, put the R back on the market and start your own shit up.
