ever want to make something disappear? just file it

today is the last day of my 3-week vacation, so here's what i did over that time:

• bought ("adopted") a miniature dachshund named carl. housebroke him, got him to walk up and down my stairs, and trained him to wait by the door when he has to go out so i can just open the door, he goes down the steps and goes where he needs to go, then comes back up the steps and inside. now if only i could get him to open and close the door by himself...
• moved around a bunch of furniture in two of the rooms upstairs and made a bigger office, bought some office stuff.
• upgraded my firewall to openbsd 3.8 and redesigned my internal network.
• learned ruby on rails, wrote a contact/project management system with it.
• worked on my 190e and fixed the sticky throttle to get the warm idle down below 1000rpm.
• got spacers for my r32 so i could fit its oem wheels with snow tires back on over the stoptech calipers so i could drive it during this winter.
• bought a midi keyboard to play with reason. i soon realized i didn't know anything about music composition, so i learned how to read sheet music and to play the piano. i'm not very fast yet, but i'm practicing.
• ate lots and lots of pop-tarts.
