i try to tell myself what to dream

i drove down to southern illinois last night with sma to pick up carl. we arrived at the super 8 motel in salem at a little after 23:00. this morning we checked out and went to denny's for breakfast, then drove to k-dachs.

we walked in and were greeted by 5 or so dachshunds of all different colors and sizes. we went back where all the puppies were kept and carl was brought out. we played with him for a bit and then i signed the papers and we left with carl. he slept most of the way home.

he doesn't like walking in the snow which is making it hard to take him outside. i can't seem to walk out of his sight without him whining. i've tried sneaking off when he falls asleep but he wakes up right away and chases me.
