i got a gift card for christmas (yes, i know, i wasn't supposed to get stuff for christmas) to barnes and noble, which conveniently merged with amazon.com. i ordered two books the other day, secrets and lies and the da vinci code. i'm not really sure why i picked those two; maybe because i've got enough technical books that i haven't read yet.
anyway, they arrived yesterday afternoon so i started reading secrets and lies. i'm not sure what i was expecting from it but i read the first eight chapters of it while sitting here at my desk and i can't say i understand the point of it (yet, hopefully). it just seems like paragraph after paragraph of semi-related anecdotes about security-related events. i'm not sure what the reader is supposed to learn from it. maybe it will be made clearer in the second half of the book.
