did i mention, i got an ipod? sma never used his so i took it from him a week or two ago.

the phatbox in the r32 sucks because of the whining noise that remains unresolved by phatnoise or volkswagen. it makes listening to soft music at loud volumes unenjoyable.

add to that having to sync mp3's on my laptop, the mp3 server, the phatbox, and now my ipod, and i've built a strong case for ditching the phatbox in favor of an integrated ipod in the car. that way i only have to sync mp3's on the server and the ipod.

although i love my sennheiser pxc 250's with noise cancellation, the battery pack is bulky and i can only really use them at work when it sits on my desk. i bought the mx 500's the other week which sound decent for the price, but they tend to shift/fall out of my ears which gets annoying.

so, i bought the new etymotic's which should sound a lot better and sit further inside the ear to provide better bass and hopefully remain stationary.
