today is the day-after-the-christmas-weekend-where-we-already-got-the-day-before-the-weekend-off, which means no work at dls. i awoke around noon and headed out to some furniture stores to find a dining room table and chairs. i went to 3 stores and found nothing but crap, so i came back home and ate half a box of frango mints for dinner. furniture stores suck, by the way. i walked into one and the lady asked if she could help me to which i replied "i need a dining room table." she says "uh, there's a few way over there in the corner" and then just stands there. i was expecting her to start walking over there and show them to me, but she just pointed at the corner and then kept standing there. i said "uh, thanks" and walked away slowly, thinking maybe she would follow me over there, but she didn't. i walked over to the tables and without even stopping, just kept walking past them and walked out the door.
i went to another store which had a bunch of fancy crap which was all stacked on top of other fancy crap. their store wasn't very big, so rather than display some of the merchandise on the floor and stock the rest, they just cram it all onto the floor so you can barely walk around the store. and of course, no one helped me, so i made a lap around the maze of furniture and left.
